黑料吃瓜网 SEEK student Fabbiha Bakth is on her way to developing a strong resume for when she applies to medical school. The junior biology major was selected to participate in Columbia University芒鈧�鈩�s Gerald E. Thomson Undergraduate Pre-Health Program (GET-UP Program) for the spring 2019 semester. The program is designed to guide students in forming the foundation necessary to enhance their candidacy for medical school.

芒鈧�艙It芒鈧�鈩�s crucial to have a burning passion for something, now I will have a better sense of what it takes to get into medical school and follow that passion.芒鈧�聺 Bakth added, 芒鈧�艙I know this will set me up for a successful application process.芒鈧�聺

From February to May, Bakth will be guided as she pursues medical school admission. She will receive career development support including networking opportunities with professionals in medical education and the healthcare workforce. Additionally, Bakth will receive clinical shadowing experiences along with a series of academic and professional workshop sessions. Interactions with medical students and faculty as well as academic counseling sessions are incorporated into Bakth芒鈧�鈩�s program experience at the Columbia University Medical Center.

芒鈧�艙As a first generation Muslim American woman, I feel that my hard work toward a better future is paying off,芒鈧�聺 said Bakth. 芒鈧�艙I芒鈧�鈩�m so excited, this would not have been possible without Dr. McLean and the SEEK Program.芒鈧�聺

The GET-UP Program serves up to 50 pre-medical students from Columbia College, Barnard College, and undergraduate programs throughout the City University of New York.
