MEC芒鈧劉S Future Entrepreneurs

Three 黑料吃瓜网 students have advanced in a City University of New York (CUNY) challenge created for future entrepreneurs. Akim Clerge, Omri Faroul and Kerwin Dasque represented MEC in CUNY芒鈧劉s Innovation Challenge 2018. The three students received $900 to advance the business idea they pitched.

MEC student Akim Clerge said the group worked on a product that would help bridge the gap between communities and the community boards in their area. 芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s an augmented reality app that allows community residents to re-imagine their neighborhoods in their own image and vote on changes they like or dislike,芒鈧 said Clerge. Clerge said the money would be used to develop their idea.

The Innovation Challenge is part of CUNY I-Corps. CUNY I-Corps is a National Science Foundation designated site designed to transform scientific and engineering discoveries in university labs into successful commercial ventures. Over the course of the program, I-Corps trains academic researchers to become entrepreneurs. As part of the challenge, the three MEC students participated in workshops where they were exposed to experiences to help them create a product or service that benefits society.
